Cnte d'Attimis Maniago

Traditional is the most correct term with which to define those varieties, which some define as autochthonous, which have been present since ancient times in a given geographical area and which have developed them with peculiar and distinctive characteristics.

A definition that also embraces the case, albeit slightly different, of those vines that have arrived relatively recently, such as Pinot Grigio or Sauvignon, but which have found in our hills the right environment to express themselves at the highest levels.

In our company the traditional vines – Friulano, Ribolla Gialla, Malvasia, Picolit, Verduzzo friulano, Pignolo, Schioppettino, Refosco dal Peduncolo Rosso, Tazzelenghe – represent an added value for the originality of the wines and for the biodiversity they represent, the only bulwark to the homologation of taste, daughter of a few vines grown anywhere in the world.

We have never made it a matter of fashion because going with the flow is not like us, the only principle that inspired us is that according to which, whether it is made from Cabernet or Tazzelenghe, the wine must above all be good, well thought out and well done, and then it must leave something, a memory, an emotion: because the true meaning of belonging to the denomination of origin Friuli Colli Orientali is to give territorial recognition to our wines.

Therefore, if we were to condense our concept of making wine it would be something that sounds like this: "I do nothing, I help it to be born, like a midwife, that's all: it already exists, it is in nature, in my plants and in my vineyards. I am concerned with only one thing: to treat it delicately, so that it is born strong and grows solid".
