Collection: Elena Fucci

Verha means wine in the Arbëreshë language spoken by the Albanese minority residing in the Barile village of Basilicata since the fifteenth Century.
The Verha Project started in 2022 with the aim to provide younger ready-to-drink wines able to represent the essence of the Vulture terroir. 
It has a social value since the grapes for making the wines come from the winegrowers in Barile, the same community as Elena Fucci belongs. Before the pandemic period, the local winegrowers used to trade their own grapes with the large wineries of the area making “garagiste-style” wines. Failed this trade, Elena and the winegrowers agreed to use the grapes to make Verha wines, to support the community and avoid the desertion.
