Epatta Rosato di Toscana IGT
Epatta Rosato di Toscana IGT
Fortulla was created in 2005 and its name comes from a small creek called Fortullino which runs throughout the property. The Cabernet grapes are picked by hand, and after destemming the berries are hand selected on a moving belt. The berries are subjected to pre-fermentation cold maceration, to favor the extraction of varietal aromas, color and the subtler and sweeter tannins.
Epatta rosé is crafted from Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon grapes hand harvested from a vineyard planted in 2003.
The vineyard, on calcareous clay soil, benefits from an optimal south southwest exposure, and pruning is managed via the Guyot method.
The wine is fermented and aged in stainless steel, followed by further bottle aging of about three months.
Epatta rosé has deep, soft pink colour, with intense aromas of pink grapefruit, wild strawberries and rosehip, crisp, concentrated flavour and a long finish.
Food pairings: Ideal for cold cuts, parmesan cheese, seafood, especially shellfish and raw fish preparations such as sashimi.
