Pelagico Bianco di Toscana IGT
Pelagico Bianco di Toscana IGT
Fortulla was created in 2005 and its name comes from a small creek called Fortullino which runs throughout the property. The Cabernet grapes are picked by hand, and after destemming the berries are hand selected on a moving belt. The berries are subjected to pre-fermentation cold maceration, to favor the extraction of varietal aromas, color and the subtler and sweeter tannins.
Pelagico, from the Greek “hills that dive into the sea”, comes from a parcel of clay soil that is rich in fragmented limestone. Petit Manseng is a French grape variety typical of Jurançon, characterized by particularly small berries and a thick skin, which produces a small quantity of must. Pelagico is produced in extremely limited quantities.
Pelagico is golden-yellow with a beautiful, intense minerality. On the nose it presents notes of dried apricot and mature fruit. To the palate the wine is dry, complex, structured.
Ideal with white meats and aged cheeses.
