Serpentino Terratico di Dibbona DOC
Serpentino Terratico di Dibbona DOC
Fortulla was created in 2005 and its name comes from a small creek called Fortullino which runs throughout the property. The Cabernet grapes are picked by hand, and after destemming the berries are hand selected on a moving belt. The berries are subjected to pre-fermentation cold maceration, to favor the extraction of varietal aromas, color and the subtler and sweeter tannins.
Il Serpentino was born in 2012. The name derives from the geological peculiarities of Castiglioncello and from the Serpentinite rock. Serpentinite is a magmatic rock belonging to the classic ophiolite or greenstone trilogy.
The Serpentino comes from a particle of predominantly clayey soil rich in limestone skeleton. The grapes are harvested by hand in small crates and after careful manual selection they are pressed.
The wine is straw yellow in colour, the nose has notes of sage, peach, yellow apple, pineapple and wild flowers. On the palate the wine is fresh, sapid, with evident mineral sensations.
Ideal with white meats, fish and shellfish
